A total of 53 giant models of Wallace, Gromit, and the mischievous Feathers McGraw have been brought together outside the Mall at Cribbs Causeway, near Bristol, where they will remain for two weeks before being auctioned off.
Earlier this summer, the sculptures were scattered across Bristol as part of a citywide art trail, raising funds for The Grand Appeal, the charity supporting Bristol Children’s Hospital. The initiative helps provide life-saving equipment, supports families, and funds medical research.
Over the years, these trails have generated more than £20 million for the cause through donations and auction proceeds.
Alongside the large sculptures, visitors will also see 100 “Norbots”—smart gnome figures from Vengeance Most Fowl—which were decorated by local schoolchildren.
Nicola Masters, director of The Grand Appeal, said the trail has drawn visitors “from all over the world.” She added:
“Sometimes it feels like there’s not much to celebrate, and we hope the warmth, humour, and charm of Gromit Unleashed and the Wallace & Gromit sculptures will bring joy to the community—while also helping us raise the vital funds needed for Bristol Children’s Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.”
Masters emphasized that this exhibition will be the only opportunity to see all 53 sculptures displayed together before they go under the hammer later this month.
