Clearing the Cache
Daily use of your device creates cached files that take up system storage, which can slow down performance.
Therefore, clearing this cache from time to time is a great way to improve the performance of your Windows 11 computer.
To do this, go to Settings → System → Storage, then click on Temporary Files to select and remove them, or enable Storage Sense for automatic cleanup.
Cleanup Recommendations
To make things easier, Windows 11 can identify large files, unused apps, and system files that take up significant storage space.
In this context, using Windows Cleanup Recommendations is a great way to start clearing disk space. To access this tool, click the Windows button → open Settings → System → Storage, scroll down, and click on Cleanup Recommendations.
This will open your temporary files from the Downloads folder and Recycle Bin.
Disk Cleanup Tool
Windows also includes the built-in Disk Cleanup tool, which you can always access, regardless of which version of Windows you are using.
The easiest way to find Disk Cleanup is to search for it in the Windows search bar. Once opened, you will be asked to select a drive.
After selecting it, the tool will automatically identify temporary internet files, setup log files, and various cached files that can be safely deleted. You just need to browse the list, select the types of files you want to remove, and click OK.
