Turkish photographer Albert Yeseltas has created portraits of Princess Diana, Kurt Cobain, John Lennon, Freddie Mercury and others, using AI image-enhancing software and editing software to create the images.
Yeseltas wrote of the project: “With the development of AI technology, I was excited for a while, believing that anything imaginable could be shown in reality. And when I started tinkering with the technology, I saw what I could do and thought about what would make me happiest. I wanted to see some people once Another was in front of me, and that's how this project came into being."
He continued, "The hardest part of the creative process for me is making the photo look 'real' to me. The moments I love the most are when I think the photo in front of me looks so realistic as if it was taken by a photographer."
Both celebrities who appeared on the project died at a young age, often in tragic circumstances.
Princess Diana died in Paris at the age of 36 after the Mercedes-Benz in which she was traveling crashed while being chased by paparazzi in the early hours of August 31, 1997.
"Behind this project lies the question, what would people realistically look like if some great event didn't happen to them," Yeseltas explained.
