YouTube Highlights 2025 Trends and Introduces Personalized Year-in-Review

YouTube Trends Overview
YouTube has released a comprehensive list of top-performing content across multiple categories. According to the platform:

“He’s joined by IShowSpeed, who pushed the boundaries of livestreaming with his 24/7 IRL streams across the country, and CoryxKenshin, whose devoted fans have purchased hundreds of thousands of copies of his self-published manga series.”

Among the leading topics, as identified by the YouTube Culture and Trends team, are Squid Game, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Labubu, alongside other rising trends. These represent topics that saw above-average growth throughout the year, while other rankings are based strictly on content performance.

The annual rankings offer a fascinating snapshot of what captured attention in 2025 and provide insights for creators on which channels and personalities are resonating with audiences.

The inclusion of podcasts is particularly notable. Podcasts have become a key part of the YouTube ecosystem, and the rankings highlight which shows are successfully growing their audience through visual content.

Personalized YouTube Recaps
Beyond global trends, YouTube is allowing users to explore their own viewing habits in 2025 with a personalized recap. These recaps highlight your top interests, memorable moments, and favorite creators based on your watch history.

Essentially, it’s YouTube’s version of Spotify Wrapped, offering a personal reflection of your content consumption over the year.

YouTube confirms that these personal Recaps begin rolling out today in the U.S., with availability expanding to other regions in the coming weeks.
