According to Arash Mahboub, Vice President and General Manager of Google Play Games, the new step aims to make the store “a comprehensive destination for discovering apps, games, books, movies, and cultural content,” instead of merely being a platform for downloading apps.
Smarter Gaming Experience
As reported by Thomas Guide, Google is focusing especially on enhancing the gaming experience within the store. The new updates will allow players to track their achievements and stats across devices through a unified profile, along with the ability to create an AI-generated avatar.
The most exciting feature is the launch of “Sidekick”, an intelligent in-game assistant that provides instant information and tailored guidance using Gemini Live and Google DeepMind technologies. This means players will be able to get real-time tips during gameplay, and even have their screens analyzed to help overcome obstacles.
In addition, the Google Play Points program will be expanded with new ways to earn and spend points, as well as the ability to play with friends through interactive tournaments and leagues.
“You” – A New Tab
As part of the major updates, Google Play will add a new tab called “You”, focused on every aspect of the individual user experience—from subscriptions and statistics to recommendations and updates.
Thanks to AI, the store will better understand users’ interests and provide more precise suggestions for apps, games, and media that match their preferences.
Toward a More Comprehensive Platform
With these changes, Google aims to transform Google Play into more than just an app store, turning it into an all-inclusive platform that interacts with users’ interests and accompanies them in the world of gaming, entertainment, and daily digital experiences.
