The first feature, called “Infinity Retention,” allows users to save their chat history permanently—unlike Snapchat’s original design, which automatically deletes messages. This feature offers users greater flexibility, as it can be enabled or disabled for each conversation individually, with the option to notify the other party and give them the choice to turn it off as well.
The second feature, “Group Streaks,” makes it easier for friends to maintain streaks together. While individual streaks require sending and receiving a Snap daily between two people, Group Streaks allow multiple people to contribute, ensuring continuity more easily. If a streak ends, it can be restored within a week, giving users a chance to reconnect.
These updates come as a direct response to the Snapchat community, which has long requested better options for saving conversations and building group streaks.
