Digital broadcasting company Netflix is asking its employees to leave if they feel insulted by the company's content, according to the instructions included in a memo referred to by Variety and titled "Netflix Culture - The Quest for Excellence."

"As employees, we support the principle that Netflix offers diverse stories, even if we find some titles that go against our personal values," the memo says.

As the memo noted, "Depending on your role, you may need to work on some titles that you find harmful, and if you find it difficult to support the breadth of our content, then Netflix may not be the best place for you."

The memo comes shortly after employees staged a strike over Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos' continued broadcast of The Dave Chappelle Show despite his mockery of the transgender community.

Netflix admitted that some programs may present a dilemma for some viewers, but the streaming service chooses not to silence the artists, adding that “not everyone will like or agree with everything in our services, and at a time when each title is different from the other, we deal with them all according to the same principles.” We support the artistic expression of the creators we choose to work with, offer programming to a variety of audiences and tastes, and let viewers decide what's right for them, and Netflix refuses to censor specific artists or voices.”

Musk, who is in the middle of a controversial Twitter takeover, supported the Netflix update.

"Good move by @netflix," he posted.
