Scammers managed to steal nearly $500,000 in crypto currency last weekend from many people around the world by targeting them with Google Ads.

According to the Check Point Research report, the fraud campaign that was discovered was limited to the end of last week only, as fraudsters made deceptive sites and then promoted them on the Google search engine as real sites using deceptive names, for example, the sites were created to simulate the Phantom application, but instead When users search for an ad at the top called Phanton, they will find themselves thinking that it is the official website, and they will fall victim to these ads, which is the case with the MetaMask wallet.

The scammers then drop the users and obtain the data of the electronic wallets for each of them to steal what they own of the digital currencies in their possession, on top of them Ethereum.
