The White House officially joins the Threads platform!

Yesterday, Monday, the White House officially joined the “Threads” social networking platform, affiliated with Meta, which competes with the “X” platform owned by American billionaire Elon Musk.

The move, which the White House says has been in the works for several weeks, comes just days after he and others criticized Musk for amplifying and endorsing an anti-Semitic post.

Major media companies, including Comcast, Walt Disney, Warner Bros. and Discovery, announced that they had stopped advertising on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.

The White House launched its official account on Threads, in addition to official accounts for the President, the First Lady, the Vice President, and her husband.

In a related context, a spokesman for President Joe Biden's re-election campaign told CNN that the President and Vice President Kamala Harris will also launch two personal accounts on Threads.

White House spokeswoman Robin Patterson said that the reason for this step is “because we are committed to communicating with people wherever they are.”
