Accordingly, to a study by the US National Institutes of Health, it doesn’t matter how you take your tea, you can add milk or sugar or even drink it cold, and the health benefits remain the same.
As well as lowering the risk of death, black tea also cuts your chance of heart disease and stroke.
Researchers looked at Data on 500,000 people from the UK, it’s one of the thirstiest tea-drinking countries in the world.
The average Brit gets through almost 2 kg of tea per year.
Green tea lovers shouldn’t feel left out, however drinking green tea has also been linked with a longer and healthier life.
According to a study of 101,000 Chinese adults, 3 cups a week can cut your risk of heart disease or stroke by 20%.
There’s good news for coffee drinkers too.
A regular cup of coffee can lower your risk of heart disease, as well as stroke, kidney disease and diabetes.
It can even make you less likely to develop Parkinson’s disease.
