Omicron: What are the symptoms of the latest COVID variant?
Health experts said that there is a need to amend the list of the main symptoms of "Covid-19" disease, especially with the great similarity between the symptoms of the new mutant "Omicron" and the symptoms of the common cold.

They warned that people infected with the 'Omicron' mutated, the latest strain of the Corona virus, may inadvertently spread the virus, believing it is just the most common cold.

Tim Spector, professor of genetic epidemiology at King's College London, is surprised that government campaigns such as NHS posters do not list the symptoms of runny nose and headaches sneezing as symptoms of Omicron.

He said government media messages were still focused on the classic symptoms of the virus such as a blistering fever and a persistent cough.

He added that many of those infected with the mutated "Omicron" do not suffer from these symptoms at all, and even if they suffer from these symptoms, it will take time for them to appear, and in light of that, they have infected others with the virus without knowing, and thus spread the disease.

The infectious disease expert believes messages about symptoms are outdated and need to be updated.

He said that he did not understand why Britain's health services did not mention the symptoms of "Omicron" similar to colds, considering that it was very strange at a time when the country was trying to contain the epidemic.

As a result, people with cold-like symptoms ignore it, waiting for known symptoms such as fever and loss of smell decisiveness, as the definitive evidence of infection with the virus.

People who face any health symptoms are advised to hurry up to have a PCR test and isolate themselves until the test result appears.
