These displays are small green LED lights used for simple tools like navigation, presentation cues, and keywords.
Rokid emphasizes that its smart glasses are the lightest glasses equipped with cameras that combine sound, AI, and augmented reality.
According to the company, they weigh only 49 grams thanks to a frame made of magnesium and aluminum alloys. This weight is almost identical to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, which weigh between 48 and 51 grams, although Meta’s glasses do not feature any type of display.
Rokid glasses will also come with a 12-megapixel camera capable of recording up to 60 frames per second.
A key feature of the Rokid camera is that it allows users to capture photos and record videos in different aspect ratios, unlike Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses.
Additionally, the glasses include speakers and a set of four microphones for calls and for using voice assistants such as ChatGPT.
Rokid glasses also offer a range of AI features, including object recognition, real-time translation, voice transcription, and the ability to read printed text from menus or papers. One of the standout features is the battery life.
Rokid glasses are expected to be more expensive than Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses due to their added capabilities, including two integrated displays. Reports suggest a proposed retail price of $599 USD.
